Level 1- The Explorer

  • BTB to Fern Road

Break the Boundary Hub to Fern Road

This lovely walk takes us through diverse landscapes close to the Hub. Look for wildflowers, orchids, zamias, banksias, grasstrees, rocky granite outcrops and much much more.

This hike is part of our new nature immersion series, making adaptive hiking options available for everyone. This project has been kindly supported by the WA Government and Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries through the WA Hiking Participation Program.

  • Jorgensen Park Walk

    Family Friendly and Dog Friendly!

This lovely walk explores Jorgensen Park and it’s stunning surrounding bushland. Excellent, new accessible facilities, and a lovely stroll through nature.

  • Rocky Pool

This is a pleasant walk through the valley of Kalamunda National Park. We follow along a wide track at the floor of the valley. Rest at a clifftop view of Rocky Pool- a picturesque swimming hole surrounded by granite boulders. We also have a Level 2 hike at Rocky Pool.

  • Swan View Railway Tunnel + Hovea Falls

This picturesque loop follows part of Eagle View Track and the Heritage Trail in John Forrest National Park. If you’re brave enough, walk through the Swan View railway tunnel, which was built in 1894, to return via the Heritage Trail. Hovea Falls can be added to this hike if time permits.

  • Lesmurdie Brook Loop

Lack of rain in Perth has significantly affected the beauty of this walk! The trail is truly at its best in winter and spring when water is plentiful and wildflowers are abundant. We recommend picking this hike later in 2024 when the area has had a chance to recover.

Level 2- The Adventurer

  • Break the Boundary Hub to Hewett's Hut

This moderately challenging 8-kilometer round-trip trail takes you into bushland from the BTB Hub, along the Bibbulmun Track offering diverse flora and fauna along the way. Have a snack at Hewitt's Hut, before we trek back up hill out of the valley.

  • Golden View Lookout to Mundaring Weir

Explore the breathtaking landscapes of the Perth Hills on the hike from Golden View Lookout to Mundaring Weir. This 4-kilometer round-trip trail is perfect for hikers of all levels, offering stunning vistas and a rich historical backdrop. We can even walk along the Mundaring Weir!

  • Perth Hills Discovery Centre and Lookout

Experience the beauty of the Perth Hills on the hike from the Perth Hills Discovery Centre to the Mundaring Weir Lookout. This moderately challenging 6km round-trip trail takes you through the scenic bushland of Beelu National Park. A Break the Boundary Hiking Leader’s favourite!

  • Fern Road to Rocky Pool

Fun and stunning walk through Kalamunda National Park to Rocky Pool. An out and back loop, this 6km trail has over 200m of elevation!

  • Wildflower Walk John Forrest National Park
